What is biodivesity? - EXTERNALITIES 3
Have you ever heard about externalities? Not yet? It's a problem. Episode three.
If you've read the previous posts, you're sure to be wondering what Ashkatan is doing to compensate for externalities and a more livable future at all?
For a more livable future, the key word is biodiversity. Not just nature conservation, but biodiversity.
Make a note of this term, use it, share it with others. We have never understood so much how important biodiversity is. Where a species disappears, there are dozens to follow, and where a species manages to be brought back into an environment, it brings a whole host of positive changes, not only for other animals and plants, but for humans as well. Not only does it matter how many trees you plant, but also how many species of trees. Not only does it matter how many animals are in a forest, but also how many species of animals.
Biodiversity, species richness is not only responsible for human mental health. Without it, there would be no food on your table, no inhalable air on the street.
Ashkatan Marimba Mallets, although to a very small extent, also creates externalities. The transport of mallets and raw materials requires fuel and produces harmful substances. We recycle the cardboard and the polystyrene filler, but the buyer often just throws them in the trash. Our birch raw material comes from the United States, and once the beautiful Ashkatan marimba mallets are made from it, it is often returned to the same place.
So we have externalities, but we also have a vision.
That is why we are preparing for an important thing here at Ashkatan Marimba Mallets.
From now on, we will be giving a gift to biodiversity every Christmas. This year we made a really special gift that you can read about here.
